Fantastic Fall Fun

'HAPPY FALL TO YOU'
From one pumpkin to another!!!!!!!A woman was asked by a coworker, 'What is it like to be a Christian?'

The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.' God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff. He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of you to shine for all the world to see.'

Just thought I would share what a good birthday I had.
Saturday the 24th we went to spend the day riding the Virginia Creeper Trail from Green Cove to Damascus, Va. It was cold and misty, really too late in the season, but it was still worth the trip. Then Sunday, Ted's family got together to celebrate both mine and Jen's(my sister in law)birthdays together. Momma made a home-made ice cream cake that would rival Carvel's any day! She fixed my favorite dish of hers- roast beef! It was a good day:)

Then Monday, my actual birthday was not going at all how I had expected, for sure. I am glad it didn't though. My brother Jon came with his new girlfriend Mia. We cooked dinner together, and enjoyed a wonderful evening! Mia's birthday was the same day as mine, and of course, Jonathan's is coming up this Saturday. It was a birthday celebration extravaganza.
I adored Mia, and we all agreed she is definitely an asset to Jon's life.
We are so happy for the both of them, and pray this is just exactly what God wants for the both of them.

Today, the boys and I worked hard at the church Fellowship Bldg doing some major moving projects that needed to be done. We will finish that up tomorrow.

I want to thank all those who sent money, cards, greetings, and presents to me for my birthday. You made it all so special and thoughtful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Love

Changes addendum

Just need to add a postscript to my previous post.
Due to weight related issues, and the fact that my surgery has been postponed, Ted and I both agreed that I need to start a weight loss regimen, in spite of the other health issues I have. We know that those other issues will be resolved once I have my procedure. In the meantime, I do not want to jepordize the quality of life or length of life I am able to enjoy by hurting my body and heart with too much weight.
I am seriously dreading the physical side affects this weight loss will bring, but I think for long term it's the right decision for my overall health. I hope to have half of my weight off around January, and will know if that has helped matters or just exacerbated the other issues.
I have recruited Jamie and Justin to be my coaches, and Ted will get his own personal workout, giving me zillions of hugs every day to keep me from being overly cranky :)
I ask that you pray for me as weight loss increases my other problems more, but it will help me in the long run.
Thanks

Here is the before picture, let's see what the After will look like in a few months :)

Changes

Happy Greetings to everyone! So many things are changing around here! The leaves are changing, the weather is always changing it's mind, the time is about to change, and soon the season will be changing yet again.

Another change to a previous post is that my surgery has been postponed for financial reasons. My insurance deductable has to be met first, before they can do the procedure on me. Thank you for praying for me, and just keep praying that God will supply this need in His time and will.
School is barrelling along for us, my work has been reactivated so that I am usually working every week on something, and Ted is always loaded up with work.

Ted was put on some medicine for his diabetes, and he started taking it while he was sick with a cold/flu virus. It was the most miserable 2 weeks of his life. This week he took himself off of it, and things are getting back to normal. He continues to check his blood sugar levels at various times, and is finding what is causing problems. He still hopes to get back on the medicine to see if it will settle down and do what it's supposed to do.

Just wanted to send birthday greetings to my sister-in-law Jen, and my brother Jonathan.

We hope you will enjoy this season of change.

Before I sign off, let me urge you to pray for our friends in British Columbia, Canada. Tami was in a serious car accident, and is still in critical condition. Please remember her in your prayers, for physical AND spiritual healing.

Love y'all
Rebecca

Face to Faith

Br. Roger Henson and his family was at our Homecoming services today. He preached tonight on Does Faith show on your Face?
Faith will show in our conduct
Faith will show on our countenance
Faith will show in our crossing(to Heaven)

Is your Faith in Jesus Christ alone? Does your Faith in Him show in your life?

~Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy He saved us....Titus 3:5a

~For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves it is the GIFT of God NOT of works, lest any man should boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9 (blogger's emphasis on words)

I hope you come Face to Faith this week
